  2. JetMail Configuration Setup Help

  8. <1> Transfer Protocol
  9.     You need to select a transfer protocol for JetMail to send
  10.     a .QWK mail packet to you, or for JetMail to receive a .REP
  11.     reply packet from you.  JetMail uses the same transfer protocols
  12.     as those available in Spitfire's external protocols list.

  14. <2> Compression Format
  15.     Multiple compression utilities may be supported by JetMail.
  16.     Select the format that you prefer to use with your offline mail
  17.     reader from the list supported by this BBS.

  19. <3> Include Welcome Screen
  20.     You can optionally receive the welcome screen from your BBS in each
  21.     mail packet.
  22.  
  23. <4> Include Goodbye Screen
  24.     You can optionally receive the goodbye screen from your BBS.
  25.  
  26. <5> Include Messages From You
  27.     JetMail has an option to not download messages that you wrote.
  28.     Toggling this option to NO will keep your .QWK packets from picking
  29.     up messages that you wrote.

  31. <6> Include New Bulletins
  32.     JetMail can let you download bulletins updated since the last time
  33.     you used JetMail.  JetMail can scan for all new bulletins and put
  34.     them in your .QWK packet, or scan for bulletins updated in the
  35.     first ten bulletins (in case you have games bulletins which are
  36.     updated daily and you aren't interested in).

  38. <7> Include New Files
  39.     JetMail can scan for new files in the Files Section and include it
  40.     in your .QWK mail packet.  If you want to scan for new files, you
  41.     can scan all directories or just one directory (like the upload
  42.     directory; this will keep scanning time short).

  44. <8> Maximum Number of Messages
  45.     This parameter limits the number of messages per .QWK packet. You
  46.     may want to set a limit to make sure your offline reader is able to
  47.     handle the mail packet, or to keep a .QWK size is manageable.

  49. <9> Maximum Msgs Per Conference
  50.     This parameter limits the number of messages per conference.  Some
  51.     .QWK mail readers can only read a maximum of 200 messages per
  52.     conference.  If your .QWK reader is able to handle more messages,
  53.     feel free to adjust this parameter.

  55. <A> Include .NDX files
  56.     Many .QWK mail readers use index files (denoted by the extension
  57.     .NDX) in the .QWK packet to read messages.  Some readers (like SLMR)
  58.     are able to generate its own indexing, so you could toggle this
  59.     option to NO if you have such a reader.  Generally, you can leave
  60.     this option to YES.

  62. <B> Include User Information
  63.     Some .QWK mail readers support a User Statistics screen, which
  64.     contains information of your BBS activities (like how many downloads
  65.     you've made, last login, etc.).  You may toggle this option to YES
  66.     to have JetMail generate this information in your .QWK.  Your user
  67.     information will be included in the next (and subsequent) JetMail
  68.     sessions.
